BART Connector to Oakland Airport Back in Service Following Mechanical Problems

BART's new connector train from the O.co Coliseum to the Oakland International Airport is back in service after a shutdown caused Friday by mechanical problems, BART officials said.

BART officials said earlier today that they were unsure if the problem was related to the weather, but said the problem is not propulsion-related.

The agency asked travelers to use the Alameda Contra Costa Transit 73 bus line and established a bus bridge to the airport during the shutdown.

The roughly 30 people on the train when the system failed were safely evacuated, according to BART officials
