Turns Out, You Need a License to Sell Erection Drugs

Pills from viagra-on-wheels.com not approved by the FDA

A former Oakland resident has pleaded guilty in federal court to illegally selling popular impotence drugs online without a license.

Roger L. Hollins, 50, admitted Thursday that he offered drugs including Viagra and Cialis on his Web sites, Viagra-on-wheels.com and sexpills-on-wheels.com and advertised local delivery in the Bay Area.

Hollins gets credit for innovation -- overnight delivery! -- and marketing -- a "viagra" URL for the upmarket Web crowd, a "sex pills" URL for the uninitiated, and strong search-engine optimization throughout -- but he seems to have gone astray with the product.

The feds say that he shipped drugs in from Mexico and China and sold them with Viagra and Cialis labels. The U.S. Attorney's office did find the same ingredients as those drugs in the pills, but the pills were definitely not in line with the FDA, as their labels claimed.

Indeed, the arrest was the result of an 18-month investigation by the FDA.
