The woman who took her 9-year-old neighbor to meet their congresswoman in a Safeway parking lot two weeks ago is talking about the mass shooting that has captured the attention of the country.
Suzie Hileman used to call the Marin County city of Tiburon home. She now lives in Tucson Arizona and was one of the people gunned down during a "Congress on the Corner" event held by congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords on January 8.
The little girl Hileman was with, Christina Green, died in the shooting.
Hileman sat down with NBC's Brian Williams for an exclusive interview.
She tells a heart wrenching story of the event that includes her pleading with Christina to stay alive as both lay bleeding in the parking lot.
"Christina-Taylor Green, don't you die on me," Hileman told Williams when describing that morning.
