Two-Alarm Fire Damages Two Homes, Displaces 11 People in SF's Mission

Two homes were damaged, but no one was hurt in a two-alarm fire in San Francisco's Mission district Wednesday night, according to the San Francisco Fire Department.

Fire crews responded to 1007 Shotwell St., near 24th Street, about 6:30 p.m., where a two-story residence was on fire, and the flames had spread to a three-story house next door, fire officials said.

A total of 11 residents were displaced from the two homes, three from the house where the fire started and eight from the home next door, fire officials said.

Seventy firefighters were on scene to make sure the blaze did not spread to more structures, fire officials said.
