Police in Oakland are investigating a double homicide this morning, an Oakland police officer said.
Officers responded to a call at around 11:20 p.m. Monday to respond to the Value Inn 300 block of MacArthur Boulevard, police said, where two women were found dead.
Police say both had been shot.
Police say they appear to be in their 20s.
An investigation into the double killing was underway.
Investigators are interviewing potential witnesses and following up on leads in the case. No arrests have been made and the motive remains a mystery, police said
The deaths are the 47th and 48th homicides on 2009 in Oakland.
