Two Shot in Gilroy, One Man Dies

Police are investigating a shooting that killed one person and  left another person critically injured in Gilroy Wednesday night.

At about 10:50 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting in  the 7300 block of Chestnut Street, near East Seventh Street.


Emergency crews and police tried to save the 30-year-old Gilroy man, who was  transported to a local hospital, where he died, police  said.

A second victim, a 37-year-old Gilroy man, sustained critical  injuries and was transported to a local trauma center. He is expected to  survive his injuries, according to police.

The motive for this crime has not been determined, police said.

No suspects have been arrested, according to police.
