A first-of-its-kind clinic in San Francisco aims to address a long-standing problem related to skin care and, more specifically, the color of that skin.
The UCSF physician behind the idea, Dr. Jenna Lester, launched the Skin of Color Clinic, a novel program that just opened last November. She sees everyone, regardless of background. Her mission is simple: Create a space where patients, especially patients of color, know there’s someone who understands their skin and can feel comfortable.
"I could be bringing someone to care, who hasn’t been to the doctor in a long time," Lester said.
