Video Shows Tesla Model S Acting as a Boat in Kazakhstan

Tesla is known for its electronic vehicles, but a new video shows one man's Model S acting as a boat.

The video tweeted out by Tesla CEO Elon Musk shows a Model S floating through a tunnel full of water in Kazakhstan.

Musk in a tweet said he does not recommend using Tesla vehicles that way, but added "Model S floats well enough to turn it into a boat for short periods of time."

The Model S is a lot heavier than a typical sedan, but its battery pack is sealed so water does not damage it.

Amphibious cars do not seem to be on the market in the United States right now, but they have been used in other parts of the world. Southern-California based company WaterCar has sold over six working water-and-land-friendly cars to the Middle East.
