Major Emergency Repairs Cause VTA Delay in San Jose

VTA Services were impacted for the Friday early morning commute due to emergency repairs of an overhead wire near Children's Discovery Museum Station in downtown San Jose.

A substitute bus service is in operation for both impacted lines, between San Antonio and Curtner stations (901: Santa Teresa - Alum Rock Line) and San Antonio and San Fernando stations (902: Mountain View - Winchester Line).

A VTA spokesperson said that a light rail car with no passengers inside went out of service after losing its pantograph (the spring like device on top that makes contact with the electric line to power train) underneath Highway 87. The power line itself got damaged in the process.
