Warriors Trudge Past Heat for Fourth Straight Win

OAKLAND -- Few teams in the NBA are as good as Miami at disrupting the Warriors offensive flow, and the Heat’s scrap worked for most of a half Monday night at Oracle Arena.

The Warriors found enough rhythm before halftime to roll to a 97-80 victory, their fourth consecutive win, but the first time this season they failed to score 100 points.

Four Warriors scored in double figures, with Kevin Durant finishing with 21, Draymond Green 18, Stephen Curry 16 and Klay Thompson 13. They moved their record to 8-3 even while shooting a season-low 36.8 percent from the field.

STANDOUT PERFORMER: Though Curry was effective despite 5-of-19 shooting and Green was terrific but limited to 27 minutes by foul trouble, Durant was a rock at both ends even with subpar shooting from the field.

Durant’s line: 21 points (5-of-13 shooting, including 1-of-5 from deep, 10-of-10 from the line), eight rebounds, six assists, three blocks and a steal He played 33 minutes and finished plus-23.

TURNING POINT: After Miami pulled into a 34-34 tie on a layup by Goran Dragic with 3:57 remaining, Warriors coach Steve Kerr inserted Andre Iguodala and Thompson into the lineup, joining Curry, Durant and Green.

The result? The Warriors, behind the “Hamptons 5,” closed the half on a 16-3 run to go up 50-37.

The Heat got no closer than 10 (80-70, 7:07 remaining) in the second half.

INJURY UPDATE: Warriors: F/C David West (rest) was listed as out. C Damian Jones is on assignment with Santa Cruz of the G-League.

Heat: G Dion Waiters (personal) and G/F Rodney McGruder (L tibia surgery) were listed as out.
