Deva Dalporto is a mom who makes parody music videos about the messier things in life: cranky kids, untidy living rooms and temper tantrums.
Things most people seldom want to deal with. But Dalporto turns them into funny mom videos.
“I tried to be so perfect as a parent and it was impossible – so I thought, why not let it go and have some fun,” the Burlingame, California, mom of a 5- and 8-year-old said.
A former parenting editor at Nickelodeon, Dalporto quit her job last year and took a stab at turning the everyday reality in her house into music videos.
The outcome? Viral hits such as “What Does the Kid Say?” “Let it Go,” and her latest: “I’m so Cranky” (a parody of Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy”).
In “What Does the Kid Say“ (a parody of “What Does the Fox Say”) Dalporto gets help from her kids and husband, who prance along to lines such as “hate- you-hate-you-hate-you-mom,” “yuck-yuck-yuck-yucky-yuck,” “wipe-me-wipe-me-wipe-my----.“

The video has nearly 2 million hits on YouTube.
Dalporto’s “Let It Go” was featured by People on its list of the most popular “Frozen” parodies online.
“Parenting is crazy and you have to laugh it out or you’ll go insane,” she said. “The lyrics resonated with me – moms are so hard on themselves, you can’t get stressed with little things.”
“I’m so Cranky” – which was posted on YouTube Monday and already has 70,000 YouTube views – is about, what else, cranky kids. It’s something all moms can relate to – children scribbling on walls, pulling their mom’s hair and jumping on the couch.
Going viral has been a “surreal experience,” Dalporto said.
“I hear from moms everyday – how it saved their day from being miserable – people relate to what I say and I make them laugh,” she said.
Some of her biggest critics so far?
A bunch of 9- and 10-year-olds who found “What Does the Kid Say" offensive.
