Sunnyvale's Hwy 237 Off-Ramp Reopened After Water Main Break

All lanes of the North Mathilda Avenue off-ramp from eastbound state Highway 237 in Sunnyvale has been reopened Thursday after a water main break forced the lanes to shut down on Wednesday.

Construction workers working on converting the car pool lane to an express lane busted the water main, according to a VTA spokesperson.

The city's Department of Public Safety issued an advisory at 7:24 a.m. on Wednesday about the main break, saying repairs could last most of the day.

The construction work, which started at the beginning of 2018, involved boring a hole in the ground and the water main was accidentally damaged by the third party contractors, the VTA spokesperson said.

Water usage in the area was not impacted, according to officials.
