6/5: Scary Movies and The Submarines

Horror film festival gets its fright on, The Submarines apologize for LA and dirty punks rock hard

SUGAR RUSH: Load up on the caffeine and get ready to sit back and enjoy the sixth annual Another Hole in the Head Film Festival. The indy film fest features horror and Sci-Fi flicks at the Roxie Cinema, 3117 16th St., in San Francisco. The horror fest starts tonight at 5 p.m. and runs through June 18. For more information visit the festival's Web site.

EMBRACE LA: Not everything from Los Angeles is evil. Take The Submarines for example. The Los Angeles-based indie pop duo brings their unique sound, which has been featured in an Apple iPhone commercial, to The Independent, 628 Divisadero St., in San Francisco. More information check out Ticket Web's site.

DIRTY NAMES MAKE PRETTY SOUNDS: Holy F*Ck is more than just a band with a strange name. The rockers are strapped with a drum set, a bass guitar, a myriad of toy keyboards, guitar peddles, mixers, and even a 35 mm film synchronizer. They are set to take over Bottom of the Hill, 1233 17th St., in San Francisco at 10 p.m. with all their toys.
