PEACE AND LOVE: Berkeley's People's Park turns 40 today and there will be a celebration at Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists Hall, 1924 Cedar, in Berkeley at 7 p.m. The event will include music, food, talkis and more.

HOT ECONOMICS: One of the country's hotest econmists, Chris Thornberg, will speak at the Adobe Lodge at Santa Clara University, 500 El Camino Real, in Santa Clara at 5:30 p.m.
