TIME FOR FREE CONCERTS: If you miss the rock of the 70s and 80s, you'll enjoy strumming down memory lane tonight in the South Bay. San Jose's Music in the Park series kicks off just in time for your after-work drink with a couple of wannabe rock bands from the big hair era. Evolution, a group full of guys who wish they were Journey, takes the stage downtown at Plaza de Cesar Chavez followed by AC/DC tribute band Lon Gone Bon.
PUT ON YOUR DANCING SHOES: If you're looking for a place to do the two-step, waltz or just hear some classic barn music, take yourself to Jessie Square in San Francisco. The Stairwell Sisters all-gal old-time teardown bring their brand of sound to the Yerba Buena Gardens Festival at Fourth and Mission for another free concert. It starts at 6 p.m.
FROM THE WHITE HOUSE TO THE BAY: Eric Lewis brings his very unique brand of smooth rock jazz to DNA Lounge on 375 Eleventh St. in San Francisco for their Legal Defense Fund to fight the state's Alcoholic Beverage Control Dept. effort to shut down the joint. Lewis recently played his unmatched sounds at the White House. The show kicks off at 7 p.m. but it's not free -- it costs $35 to get in.
