We have some extra visitors in San Francisco today. Some 2,000 passengers arrived in style before sunrise aboard the massive cruiseliner Queen Victoria.
The Cunard ship made her maiden voyage to the Port of San Francisco. Her visit is a short one. The ship and her passengers will be back out at sea by tonight.
She sailed under the Golden Gate Bridge at 6 a.m. before pulling into Pier 35.
The Queen Victoria and her passengers and crew are on a voyage around the world.
She is the newest and second largest ship in the Cunard fleet.
You may remember thousands of people lined the hills and shores of Bay back in 2007 when Cunard's flagship, Queen Mary 2, made her first call in San Francisco. The timing was a little better for that one -- it came in on a Sunday afternoon.
The Queen Victoria weighs in a hefty 90,000 gross tons. She is 110 feet longer than the City's tallest building, the Transamerica Pyramid.
After a day playing tourist in San Francisco, passengers will disembark at 6 p.m. sharp. They will head back under the Golden Gate Bridge headed to Hawaii.
