Top Chef Host Tom Colicchio Closes San Francisco Restaurant

"Top Chef" host Tom Colicchio has closed the San Francisco location of his quick-service eatery 'wichcraft.

The sandwich chain still has 13 locations, all in New York City.

Inside Scoop SF noted that the closure took place on June 5 after nine years in business and will be replaced by a to-be-named modern European brasserie from Perbacco and Barbacco owners Umberto Gibin and Staffan Terje. Gibin and Terje acquired the location in November 2014.

Meanwhile, the 13th season of Bravo TV series Top Chef will be based in California, with filming planned in San Francisco and Oakland in the coming weeks.
