Palo Alto police are searching for a man who robbed a credit union while wearing sunglasses and a long, curly red wig Wednesday afternoon.
Officers were called around 5 p.m. to Alliance Credit Union in the 500 block of Cowper Street on reports of an armed robbery, police said.
A man had entered the credit union office and spoke Spanish to the teller while handing her a demand note.
The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash in a bag and fled, police said.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his 40s standing about 5 feet 10 to 6 feet tall who was wearing a baseball hat. Police said the man also had a mustache and was wearing a white or pale yellow dress shirt with red stripes.
A search of the area was unsuccessful, and police ask that anyone with information call the anonymous tip line at 650- 329-2190.
