A powerful storm slammed into the Bay Area right on cue Sunday morning. Early impacts of the storm hit Bay Area roadways.
Northbound lanes on a portion of interstate Highway 280 in Daly City were blocked following a fatal collision in the area, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A 27-year old woman who was killed in the crash. She has been identified as Lauren Delos Reyes, according to the San Mateo County coroner's office.
The Daly City resident was driving north on Interstate Highway 280 when she collided with another vehicle near the Eastmoor Avenue off-ramp just after 5 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Delos Reyes was pronounced dead at the scene. Several lanes were blocked until the roadway was cleared at about 7 a.m. The crash remains under investigation by the CHP.
Gusty winds knocked over a big rig on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge, blocking both eastbound lanes.
The big rig was heading east along the bridge's mid-span around 4:45 a.m. when heavy winds caused the vehicle to roll over, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The bridge's lower deck was closed to big rigs as of 5:15 a.m. No one was hurt in this crash.
Emergency responders were also at the scene of a collision in rural Santa Clara County that sent a car hanging off of a cliff, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP received a report around 12:30 a.m. of a Mitsubishi Eclipse that went off of the roadway near the intersection of state Highway 9 and state Highway 35 in Santa Clara County near Saratoga.
Fire crews arrived to find the vehicle hanging off of a cliff, according to the CHP. It is unknown how many people were inside the car or if they were injured.
This all happened as the largest in a series of storms slammed into the Bay Area. The system will bring an additional three to seven inches of rain to some areas.
The rain turned some streets in downtown St. Helena into rivers.

The rain knocked out power to thousands Sunday morning.

The National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Warning for Napa and Sonoma Counties at 6:35 a.m. saying the threat would last until 8 a.m. Streets in downtown St. Helena flooded. NBC Bay Area Damian Trujillo said shop owners were worried whether they would be able to open. Watch his report below.
A Flash Flood Warning was also issued for the Santa Cruz Moutains from 8 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.
The North Bay is expected to see the heaviest rains, and that has lead to flood warnings.
The National Weather Service also issued a Flood Warning for both the Russian and the Napa rivers later Sunday and into Monday.
Both are expected to crest above flood stage. Also, Saturday night city leaders in Petaluma issued an alert telling residents to anticipate flooding within the next 18 hours in the north reach of the Petaluma River. The alert told people to call 911 if they needed help.
