Woman Set on Fire in San Francisco

Police said they responded to Hollister Avenue between Jennings Street and Ingalls Street, where a man had reportedly thrown flammable liquid on the woman and set her on fire.

A woman in her 20s is in critical condition after a man allegedly set her on fire just after noon Sunday  in San Francisco, police said.

Police said they responded to Hollister Avenue between Jennings Street and Ingalls Street near the Bayview district on reports of a woman screaming and found that a woman had been severely burned when a man had allegedly threw flammable liquid on her and set her on fire.

Police said the woman took her clothes off and was able to put the fire out, but suffered severe, life-threatening burns.

The woman was taken to the St. Francis Hospital burn center.

Police said they had not yet arrested the man suspected of assaulting her and said that the incident may be a case of domestic violence.
