Deep Sea Adventure Dives into LEGOLAND

A 300,000-gallon tank holds the state-of-the-art submarine ride

ENCOUNTERING A SEA CREATURE? You'll need to enter the ocean to do so, or visit an aquarium, or if you're super-into clickable bricks, and, really, so many of us are, you'll want to swim for Carlsbad. For beginning on the second day of July a wondrous below-the-waves world is set to debut, and while the North County town does sit close to the Pacific, this marvelous sea-creature-ing will take place inland. It's the new LEGO City: Deep Sea Adventure Submarine Ride at LEGOLAND California Resort, and it is set to welcome glug-glug-able travelers on Monday, July 2. And while you may think you know your submarine-style attractions, the new offering from the brick-tastic bastion of creativity will include both real-world aquatic animals and state-of-the-art tech, making it a stand-out experience. The tank you'll enter? Prepare to count up the gallons, for there are...

300,000 OF THEM, and within those 300,000 gallons live some 2,000 ocean animals. Adding to the trip are the interactive touch screens, which add an extra deep dimension to the learning adventure, as well as "LEGO scuba divers and sunken treasures." Who are the perfect adventurers for this exciting H2O happening? LEGOLAND suggests that Deep Sea is ideal for kids ages 2 to 12. So how does your young shark aficionado or your tot who is fascinated by stingrays get to see such majesty at this brand-new destination withing the larger LEGOverse? It's included in resort admission. No wetsuit nor snorkel is required, but a love of the ocean, of the critters who swim there, and of seeing more of both are great things to arrive with, so arrive soon.
