Fall Vibes: Joshua Tree Music Festival

Tunes from around the globe, a feast of visual arts, and more good feelings await.

WHAT'S THE BEST TIME OF YEAR... to savor the desert? What if you had to choose between May and October? What if you committed to choosing both May and October? If so, then you might just be a devoted fan of the Joshua Tree Music Festival, a started-in-2003 gathering that puts the emphasis on tunes from around the planet, peaceful vibes, the visual arts, yoga sessions, and lots more. Unlike most music-centered festivals, though, the Joshua Tree Music Festival pops up twice on the annual calendar, giving those who want to swing into spring with some solid sounds a chance to do so, as well as anyone looking to send off warmer days with a desert party, before heading into winter. The 2017 happening is coming up, from Thursday, Oct. 5 through Sunday, Oct. 8. and the line-up will keep you dancing, meditating, socializing, reflecting, and feeling the togetherness through throughout the weekend.

TICKETS... will be available at the front gate and you can go with a single-day admission or a multi-day pass. Turkuaz of Brooklyn, Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 of Nigeria, The Last Internationale of New York City, Vieux Farka Toure of Mali, and several other acts are ready to sing, jam, and connect with audiences. A visit to the Positive Vibration Station is a must, while the World Market brims with wearables and other goods you might want. And Kidsville has the bubbles, slack line, story circles, and other to-dos that will make the tots a part of the sweet-of-spirit weekend, too.
