Join the Tahoe City Food & Wine Classic

Call it an easy-breezy way to saunter into the summer solstice.

WHEN SUMMER SOLSTICE... is breezing our way, with all the long-day-a-tude and lemon-liquidy sunshine it so naturally delivers, we can long to seek out alfresco happenings built around good times. Those good times might involve a glass of chardonnay, or stopping and hearing a few songs from a live band, or meandering through a bountiful farmers market, or admiring a few shiny classic cars (the kind of cars that seem to glint with all of that pre-summer sunshine). And if you happen to be at Lake Tahoe in the days running up to the longest day on the calendar, and you're long for an afternoon-long happening that's built around some of these alfresco pleasures, best find your happy way to...

TAHOE CITY, where the Tahoe City Food & Wine Classic is popping up during the four-day Tahoe City Solstice Festival. The classic rolls out from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, and benefits the Tahoe City Downtown Association. Look for "30 tasting locations that highlight varietals from area wine producers and gourmet bites from top North Lake Tahoe restaurants and caterers." Need a ticket to this almost-summer Wine Walk pronto? It's $45 when purchased ahead of time or $50 there. The area truly revs up once late spring flowers, and concerts, runs, and special events are as plentiful as lake-pretty waves lapping on a shoreline. Get all of your Tahoe City summer of '18 haps here.
