Petaluma's Favorite Plates

SATURDAY SUP: We have a theory that people who don't live in Petaluma always stick to their favorite place for a quick lunch or driving-through bite. But really, that theory could apply to any place that's close to home and frequently visited. And while we don't want to sway you from your special spot -- a special spot that is not in the town you live in takes on a certain aura that cannot be messed with -- you should also know that Petaluma is throwing a big Taste of on Saturday, Aug. 27. Meaning that a few hours legging it around town could mean five or six new favorites in your pocket.

GET STARTED: An advance ticket is $35 and the local Cinnabar Theatre will benefit. You can then toodle around and try samples from spots like Hiro's (which is going California Roll), Dempsey's (look for pork sliders), and Cowgirl Creamery at the Pelican Art Gallery (helloooo, beautiful cheesy delights). Get your info and hours. Oh heck. The hours are 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., so we can just tell you that now, but surely you'll want to look at all the restaurants and galleries. Surely.
