YARTS to Yosemite: Free Holiday Rides

Traveling to the national park on Memorial Day or the day before? There's a gratis shuttle to catch.

YARTS, or Yosemite Area Rapid Transit System, will waive its riding fee on not one but two days over Memorial Day Weekend 2018.

Those days are Sunday, May 27 and Monday, May 28, and catching a ride is as easy as researching where the shuttle stops. If you prefer Highway 140 into the park, or Highways 120, 41, or 395/120, YARTS has got you covered (and, yep, Tioga Pass opened on Monday, May 21).

You'll want to be fully in-the-know on all of the YARTS tips, like when to arrive, and not waiting for the last bus out of the park (you could be on your feet for the ride back).

Here's all you need to know, so your next step, ahead of your outing in the Big Y on May 27 or 28, is this: El Cap, Glacier Point, or that little grove of trees, the one where you sat and drank that bottle of water in 2014?

Oh goodness: The pleasures of Yosemite are so plentiful, and a free ride on YARTS only ups the overall pleasant-a-tude.
