Your Name Here: Tracy's Way to Raise $$

Tracy City Council to discuss proposal

In the midst of an $800,000 deficit, the city of Tracy is coming up with a creative way to raise some money.

City leaders are trying to decide if they should sell the naming rights of several city buildings, and city-owned landmarks to the highest bidder.

Tracy is already cutting some services, and raising rent for spots that the city owns.

"Once we started kind of opening that door, looking at what other cities are doing, there's a lot of opportunities to create a very positive relationship and help the taxpayers at the same time," Tracy Mayor Pro-Tem Suzanne Tucker said.

The Tracy City Council will take up the discussion Tuesday.
