Planned Parenthood Shooting Suspect Says He Is ‘Warrior for the Babies'

The gunman accused of shooting up a Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood clinic two weeks ago said in court Wednesday that he's guilty and is a "warrior for the babies," NBC News said.

Robert Lewis Dear, 57, also said "I'm guilty — there is no trial" during the court appearance for the Nov. 27 rampage that left three dead.

Dear surrendered after an hours-long standoff. He was in court Wednesday to be formally charged in the killings. A criminal complaint charging Dear with 179 counts was filed, but the charges were not read in court.

Law enforcement officials have told NBC News that after Dear was arrested, he talked about "no more baby parts" in reference to Planned Parenthood. On Wednesday, he talked about seeing "atrocities" in the clinic, and also said his public defense attorney wants to drug him.
