A United Airlines flight attendant intentionally deployed a plane's emergency evacuation slide after landing at Houston's Bush Intercontinental Airport, according to the airline.
Security footage obtained by NBC affiliate KPRC appears to show the flight attendant tossing a bag down the slide, then riding down after it.
United spokesman Charlie Hobart said officials are still investigating why the flight attendant, whose name was not released, inflated the slide from one of the plane's doors after the flight from Sacramento, California, landed late Monday morning.
Hobart said the flight attendant has been removed from her flying duties in a statement.
"We hold our employees to the highest standards," the statement read. "This unsafe behavior is unacceptable and does not represent the more than 20,000 flight attendants who ensure the safety of our customers."
No one was hurt during the incident and Hobart said the plane was put back into service after a new slide was installed and the aircraft was inspected.
