Blast in Turkey's Capital Leaves at Least 34 Dead, 125 Injured

The explosion is believed to have been caused by a car bomb

Turkey’s health minister said 34 people were killed and 125 injured during an attack in the capital of Ankara, NBC News reported.

Thirty of the victims were declared dead at the scene. The remaining four died at hospitals, the minister said, adding that 19 of the injured remain in critical condition.

A car, believed to be laden with explosives, detonated close to a bus, according to the private NTV news channel. Several vehicles then caught fire, the station said. The area is close to government offices, including ministries.

This is the third explosion in the city in five months. It came just three weeks after a suicide car bombing in the capital that killed 29 people.
