Chihuahua Recovering After Being Thrown Against Window

A Chihuahua is recovering after police said she was thrown against the window of a Starbucks store in Houston.

KHOU-TV reported that the dog suffered a broken back leg after being injured Oct. 21.

Authorities have charged Larry McHale with cruelty to animals. He is jailed on a $15,000 bond. Starbucks manager Jasmine Hyder said McHale had been banned from the store for harassing customers.

Witnesses said the 47-year-old McHale was yelling and smashed a bottle before the incident.

Police are not sure if the dog belongs to McHale.

The dog, which has been named "Starbucks," is being cared for by Frisky Paws Rescue, a local nonprofit. The group is asking for donations to help with the dog's estimated $1,000 medical costs.
