Hollywood stars get red carpets. Penguins get blue ones.
The Detroit Zoo gave about 80 of its penguins the star treatment on Thursday by rolling out the blue carpet for them all the way to their new home, according to a video released by the zoo.
The zoo says its new Polk Penguin Conservation Center, a 33,000-square-foot center, will be the largest penguin facility in the world.
Some of the penguins ran, some waddled, a few even struck a pose as dozens looked on from the sidelines. Luckily, the penguins came dressed for the occasion.
The Detroit Zoo’s penguin facility will open to the public on April 18.
