Florida Teen's Plea to Be Adopted Still Unanswered

A teen who asked a church full of strangers to help him find a permanent home has yet to be adopted.

Six months after a Florida teen asked a church full of strangers to help him find a real home, he still has not been adopted.

Davion Navar Henry Only's plea was first reported by The Tampa Bay Times and was then featured in news outlets around the world.

About 10,000 people from across the world called to ask about helping or adopting him, the paper reported.

The Tampa Bay Times reports Davion has moved out of a group home and into a foster one. But the foster family never intended to adopt him.

More than 300 people contacted the Times last fall saying they couldn't get in touch with anyone at Davion's foster agency, Eckerd.

An Eckerd spokeswoman said Davion was meeting with prospective adoptive families and that the process would take time.
