Former AMA Pro Racer Corbino Dead in Florida Bike Crash

A former professional motorcycle racer died and his passenger was seriously injured in a bike crash in southwest Florida, authorities said.

Sarasota police said in a news release that 27-year-old Michael Corbino, of Longboat Key, lost control of his motorcycle for unknown reasons and hit a curb Sunday night.

Corbino died at the scene. His passenger, 22-year-old Jasmine Fraser, was hospitalized in critical condition.

The single-vehicle crash is under investigation.

Corbino is a former American Motorcyclist Association Pro racer. He began racing in California in 2006 and took his talents to Florida in 2011, according to his Facebook fan page. Corbino won more than a dozen awards throughout his career.

According to his obituary, Corbino was born and raised in Sarasota and began riding motorcycles at the age of 4. He was also an avid surfer and world traveler.
