Missing Georgia Tech Student Found Injured But Alive

A Georgia Tech aerospace engineering student missing since leaving a party on Friday night was found Monday morning along railroad tracks in Atlanta — badly injured but alive, police said.

James “Jimmy” Hubert, 24, was found early Monday by a friend, the university said. He was transported to an area hospital, Atlanta police spokesperson Elizabeth Espy told NBC News.

Police did not give specific details on Hubert's condition, but his mother said on Facebook that he was mugged and badly beaten.

Espy said investigators have not been able to interview Hubert due to his injuries.

The friend who found Hubert told NBC affiliate WXIA she wasn’t sure if “he walked the train tracks or he was placed there."
