Brother of “Mystery” Jogger Who Died After Collapsing in Prospect Park Dies Running 10 Days Later

The man's half-brother went into cardiac arrest while jogging in Prospect Park on New Year's Eve

The brother of a man who died after collapsing during a run in Prospect Park has died days later, also while jogging.

Peter Berry, 60, collapsed and died while running in Central Park on Sunday, according to the Daily News.

His half-brother, 68-year-old Rynn Berry, went into cardiac arrest during a New Year's Eve run in Prospect Park. He died 10 days later on Jan. 9.

Rynn Berry, who had no identification on him, lay comatose and unidentified in a Brooklyn hospital for several days until his half-sibling identified him.

The men's last surviving brother called Peter Berry's death "a shock for the family." A memorial service was set for Monday at St. James Church in Manhattan.

Both men had competed in the New York Marathon.
