Facebook Photo of Michigan Mall Santa Comforting Boy With Autism Goes Viral

The heartwarming Facebook post about a boy with autism and a Santa Claus at a Michigan mall is going viral.

Naomi Johnson posted the photo on the RiverTown Crossings Mall’s Facebook, explaining that her son Landon told the Santa that he “sometimes he gets in trouble at school and it's hard for people to understand that he has autism.”

She also said her son told Santa at the mall south of Grand Rapids that “he's not a naughty boy.”

The Santa told the boy not to worry and that “he has been a very good boy being who he is,” according to the Facebook post.

“This just melts this momma's heart!” Naomi Johnson wrote. “My child is a great advocate for himself. But this day was different. He opened up to this person about who he was and he was accepted."

"He was Landon, sitting with Santa and being told that it was ok to be himself. Mommy tells him all the time that he's special and I love him the way he was made, but it's always nice to hear it from others," she added.

Since posting the photo on Sunday, it has received more than 120,000 likes and more than 44,000 shares.
