Potential Aaron Hernandez Jurors Face Questioning

Aaron Hernandez has pleaded not guilty in the murder of Odin Lloyd

Dozens of potential jurors have reported for questioning in the murder trial of ex-New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez, who's charged with killing semiprofessional football player Odin Lloyd.

The questioning Friday is being done in a closed court. Hernandez, his defense team and prosecutors huddle around each juror while Judge Susan Garsh quietly murmurs questions to them individually.

Lawyers may ask the judge to dismiss prospective jurors for good cause, such as if they're biased.

A handful of jurors had been excused for cause Friday.

Each side is allowed to excuse 18 jurors without a reason.

More than 1,000 people were in the initial jury pool. The court will seat 18 jurors, including six alternates.

Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to killing Lloyd, who was dating his fiancée's sister.
