Raw Video: Freeway Chase Ends in Spinout

A man suspected of slamming his pickup truck into his neighbor's home, injuring a girl inside, was taken into custody after leading officers on a pursuit through north Los Angeles County on Tuesday, California Highway Patrol officials said.

CHP officers were searching for James McKie after receiving a report that he had crashed his truck into the Tehachapi house, knocking a girl inside unconscious.

When officers arrived to McKie's home, he allegedly took off in his truck, leading officers on a chase on surface streets and freeways from Kern County to LA County.

McKie was heading southbound on the 14 Freeway in the Antelope Valley when officer's attempted to stop him by performing several PIT maneuvers on the white truck. The driver jumped out of the spun-out vehicle without a shirt on, dashed across freeway lanes and was nearly struck by a big rig as he attempted to evade arrest.

McKie tumbled down an embankment, where he was pinned by officers and taken into custody. He was then taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.

McKie faces charges of felony DUI and assault with a deadly weapon, officials said.
