A rare bout of cold weather had residents of Ain Sefra, Algeria, seeing the Sahara Desert frosted in a layer of snow. Amateur photographer Karim Bouchetata was one of a handful of local photographers who snapped photos of rolling red dunes covered in white on Jan. 7, 2018.
The town of Ain Sefra is known as the Gateway to the Sahara, the hottest desert in the world. See the photos.
