US Economy Adds 242K Jobs; Unemployment at 4.9 Percent

U.S. employers added 242,000 jobs in February, up from the 151,000 added in January, the government reported on Friday. The unemployment remained at a low 4.9 percent.

Economists were expecting 190,000 new positions and no change in the jobless figure, NBC News reported. Friday's report is expected to ease some concerns that the world's largest economy is losing momentum amid rising global uncertainty.
