Syrian Refugee Tripped By Camerawoman Gets New Life as Soccer Coach

The man who was tripped while trying to cross the Hungarian border was greeted as a celebrity in Spain, NBC News reported.

Usama Abdul Mohsen told NBC News his life “is like a dream.” The man and his 7-year-old son were invited to the field during a Real Madrid soccer match by superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

Mohsen was a professional soccer coach in Syria - and his story caught the eye of CENAFE soccer academy, whose director has promised him a new job and a place to live.

Mohsen and his family fled their home because of the war. He was tripped while carrying his son by a Hungarian camera operator on the Serbian border.
