Two Injured in Ski Lift Malfunction at West Virginia Resort

Authorities said two people were injured Saturday morning after a ski lift malfunctioned at a resort in West Virginia, NBC News reported.

The two injured were taken to hospital with minor injuries. They were among 25 people who fell 30 feet from the ski lift at Timberline Resort in Davis, West Virginia, when it was halted by a mechanical failure, according to a spokesman for the West Virginia Ski Areas Association.

About 100 more people were stranded on the lift for nearly two hours before they were rescued.

The broken lift was shut down for the day, but the resort remained open. The cause of the lift failure is under investigation.
