Surveillance video captured a man throwing a 24-year-old woman to the ground and beating her in a violent robbery in Manhattan.
The man approached the woman from behind around 2 a.m. on Aug. 2 on West 138th Street in Harlem, the NYPD said.
Video shows the man throw her to the ground, then punch and kick her repeatedly. Police say the man took her purse and iPhone 5 before fleeing westbound on West 138th street toward Eighth Avenue.
Police released surveillance video of the suspect, who they say is believed to be in his late teens to early 20s. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
