Woman Pummels Subway Rider Who Bumped into Her: NYPD

A woman sitting on the 7 train became enraged when another subway rider accidentally bumped into her, pummeling the rider and dislocating her shoulder before running away, police say.

Police said the 37-year-old victim boarded the Manhattan-bound 7 train at Queensboro Plaza and accidentally bumped into another woman while taking a seat Monday morning.

The seated woman snapped at the rider and began pulling her hair and punching her in the face, head, shoulder and back, police said.

The suspect then fled the train two or three stops later, either at the Hunters Point or the Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue subway station, according to police.

The victim, who sustained a dislocated right shoulder, declined medical attention at the scene. No one else was hurt.

The suspect is described as being about 35 years old, 5 feet, 4 inches tall and 120 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black coat and multi-colored scarf. A cellphone photo of the suspect taken by the victim was released by police.
