‘American Idol' Shuffles Schedule Due To Crystal Bowersox's ‘Medical Issues'

"American Idol" is switching things around this week due to "medical issues" related to one contestant.

FOX reps announced on Tuesday morning that the Top 10 male semifinalists will now perform tonight instead of the women, a change related to dreadlocked singer, and a judges' favorite, Crystal Bowersox.

"Due to medical issues which would prevent Crystal Bowersox from performing tonight, the 10 male semifinalists will perform this evening, and the 10 female semifinalists will perform tomorrow night," the network announced on Tuesday.

No further details were available about the singer's "medical issues."

Next week, the competition is expected to return to its usual format of the woman performing on Tuesday and the men on Wednesday.

FOX also announced that on Thursday, Danny Gokey, third runner-up from Season 8, will perform his new single, "My Best Days Are Ahead of Me." The same night, four more contestants will go home – two women and two men.
