Adele's “21” Falls From U.K. Top-40 Chart After Nearly Two Years

Adele's multi-Grammy winning album "21" has dropped out of the UK Top-40 Albums Chart for the first time in nearly two years, NME reported.

The record, originally released January 24, 2011, charted at 42 in this weekend's countdown after 96 weeks in the top 40. It debuted at number one selling over 200,000 copies following its successful singles "Rolling In The Deep" and "Someone Like You."

Despite the dip in album sales, Adele has much to be proud of. Her sophomore album has gone platinum 15 times in the UK for moving more than 4.5 million units, according to the Examiner. It is also the fifth best selling album of all time in the UK. In the United States she has sold 10 million copies and had three number one Billboard Hot 100 Hits.

Late last month the singer gave birth to a son with boyfriend Simon Konecki. She also sang the theme to the latest James Bond movie "Skyfall."
