Breast Pump Bandit Caught on Camera

A man suspected of swiping breast pumps from several Target stores allegedly got into a fight with an employee as he tried to leave a store with the lactation devices in hand.

Deputies said the suspect selected multiple Medela breast pumps, priced between $170 to $400, and switched the UPC scanning labels with significantly less priced Medela items.

Several Target stores in Los Angeles County allegedly were burglarized by the same breast pump thief, according to deputies from the LA County Sheriff's Department, Palmdale Station. A notice was sent out to several locations alerting employees about the possible bandit.

On the day of the fight, an employee from the loss prevention department of a Los Angeles Target store approached the man he recognized as the breast pump thief. The suspect allegedly became combative and physically assaulted the employee, deputies said.

Authorities released photos taken from surveillance video at a Target in January.

He is described as white, approximately 45 to 55 years old, 6'1 and 250 pounds with brown hair and a mustache. His vehicle is described as possibly a 2000 to 2013 silver Jeep Cherokee with a rear hitch rack.

He is wanted on suspicion of grand theft and robbery.
