Heading to Coachella? Here Are Some Parking Tips

To squeeze every second of joy out of the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival -- and avoid extra time in your car -- make sure to heed the parking instructions recommended by event organizers.

Many Angelenos will be flocking to Indio Friday for the world-class musical talent. Here are some tips from organizers that will help you stay sane.

Coachella organizers stress that festival-goers should arrive early to avoid traffic delays. There will be a variety of street closures and attendant congestion.

Parking at the festival grounds will be free from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday through Sunday, organizers said. The free lots are accessible from Monroe Street, as well as handicap and preferred parking lot.

Car camping lots are accessible, as well pick-up and drop-off stations, accessible from Jefferson Street.

Organizers warn any car that is left after 2 a.m. will be towed, and that everyone in the vehicle must wear a wristband to access the parking areas.

Once in the parking lot, make sure to follow personnel instructions.

Using all these tips will ensure you get into the festival as quickly as possible.

And, for savvy festivalgoers who don't want to worry about parking, there's always the Any Line Shuttle pass that takes you from a wide variety of desert hotels to the grounds for only $80 for the entire weekend.
