Duchess Kate gently chats with kids about how they deal with their problems and delivers a powerful message of support in a new video to support Children's Mental Health Week 2016 in the United Kingdom.

The Duchess of Cambridge, who has two children with husband Prince William, is a royal patron of the U.K. children's charity Place2Be, which provides counseling for children in schools. In a video released by the group Sunday, the Duchess sits down with a group of kids who received help there.

"Do you all talk to your friends about your feelings?" she asks them.

"Sometimes," many said.

"Are they helpful as well, do they help you?" she asks.

"Sometimes it does help, doesn't it?" she continues. "But other times there's things that you probably don't feel you want to share with your friends but at least you've got an adult to trust and to help you."

She also asks a little girl if the support she receives from Place2BE helps her improve her schoolwork.

"Yeah, it helps my schoolwork, 'cause when I feel sad, I always don't, like, do my work sometimes," she replies.

Place2Be is one of several charities in which the Duchess serves as a royal patron.

"Through my work in areas like addiction, I have seen time and again that the roots of poor mental health in adulthood frequently stem from unresolved childhood issues," she says, addressing the camera. "This needs to change. William and I feel that every child deserves to be supported through difficult times in their lives."

In November, the Duchess gave a heartwarming public speech at the Place2Be Headteacher Conference in London, in which she talked about how school officials can help the mental health of young children.

"This Children's Mental Health Week, we want to support schools to prioritize the emotional well-being of their students, alongside academic success," she says in the video. "By ensuring every child is given the emotional support they need, we are giving them a firm foundation for the happy healthy future they deserve."
