Former Playboy Playmate Found Mummified in Home

A concerned neighbor who noticed yellowing letters and cobwebs in the mailbox next door made a grisly discovery in Beverly Hills.

Authorities were called and what is believed to be the body of 82-year-old former Playboy Playmate and actress Yvette Vickers was taken from the dilapidated house. Vickers' remains were mummified, and it is estimated that she had been dead for up to a year.

The neighbor, identified as Susan Savage, said that Vickers kept to herself, but the increasingly poor condition of her house raised red flags.

A positive identification of Yvette Vickers is awaiting DNA analysis. Coroners have not yet released the cause of her death.

"We've all been crying about this," Savage said. "Nobody should be left alone like that."

Vickers was born Yvette Vedder in Kansas City, Missouri. She appeared in the 1958 B-movie "Attack of the 50 Foot Woman" and 1959's "Attack of the Giant Leeches." Her last feature role was in a 1990 horror called "Evil Spirits."
